We offer a year-round program for children ages eighteen months to five years from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM for one to five days per week. We also offer daycare for elementary school children during school holidays or summertime. Our outdoor space includes a playground, a blacktop for riding tricycles, and woods to explore. Our spacious indoor classrooms offer cozy nooks for reading and many beautiful toys for building and imaginative play. Our caring and experienced teachers provide a nurturing, joyful experience for young children, while supporting them to grow intellectually, emotionally and socially. Families from Plymouth, Killington, Woodstock, Bridgewater, Pittsfield, Mount Holly and Cavendish have chosen Plymouth Schoolhouse for their children.

Educational Philosophy

Our Reggio Emilia inspired approach to early childhood education invites children to explore, imagine, express themselves, develop friendships, engage in projects and collaborate with others. We view children as curious, natural learners who are full of potential.

We create a beautiful environment for learning

Creating a beautiful physical environment is a valuable way to support learning. Children will participate in activities and use materials that promote sensory experiences. They will learn by listening, looking, tasting and touching.

We promote self-directed play

Every child has a unique way of perceiving the world—children creatively contribute to their learning experiences. We encourage children to choose how they want to spend their time and what  activities they would like to do. This approach empowers each child with self-competence and a sense of worth.

We engage children in purposeful projects

Teachers act as learning facilitators who engage children in play and exploration. Every activity and project has a purpose and is meaningful in developing one or more particular skills.
